About

A journey shaped by four cultures.

Yiwei Huang, born 1994, is a pianist and composer based in Luxembourg. She began studying classical piano at the age of four in China, developing a strong foundation in performance and music theory that continues to anchor her work today.

Over the years, her personal and professional journey has taken her through China, the United States, Italy, and Luxembourg. These experiences have gradually shaped her musical sensitivity and artistic perspective, giving her compositions a sense of quiet distance travelled.

Yiwei began composing in 2022, inspired by personal life experiences and particularly by the birth of her first child. Her music is often described as lyrical and melodical, exploring themes of memory, life journeys, family, and emotional transformation.

Alongside her creative work, she serves as a Supply Chain Manager at Amazon Luxembourg. She believes music is not only the domain of professional artists, but also a way for ordinary life experiences to be transformed into artistic expression.

Selected Works

Compositions that carry a personal story.

Each piece carries a personal story — of family, memory, loss, and the chapters that shape a life. From quiet evenings in Luxembourg, to the wonder of new life, to a love that endured across oceans.

I.
Impromptu du soir
An improvisation born of restless nights in Luxembourg — reflections of a new chapter, pouring out at the piano with passion and motion.
II.
The Life Ahead
Her first composition, dedicated to her elder daughter — written in the wonder of new life.
III.
Heartbeats
Written for her second daughter — the soft, steady sound that became her light through difficult months.
IV.
Alba
Means sunrise in Italian — carrying the hope of new light and a quiet thread to her Italian years.
V.
Love Across the Ocean
Two years apart — a love stretched across continents and time zones, and one that endured.
VI.
In My 20s
The last piece before turning thirty — a tribute to the years that shaped her most.
VII.
The Story of Time
Sparked by the birth of her first child — the past as a place she longs to return to, the present already slipping, the future on its way to becoming memory.
VIII.
Memory of a Winter
Written in memory of her father — sorrow and deep gratitude for the last quiet moments they shared.
IX.
Let It Spring
Renewal and hope — a reminder that every season of sorrow makes space for the warmth that follows.
X.
The Road Home
A tender nostalgia, returning to streets that once framed her childhood.
XI.
Nostalgia
As the name says — a tender longing for what once was, in melody.
XII.
Flashbacks
Fleeting images of life, passing like a film before the eyes.
XIII.
A Place Far Away
Written after moving to a new country — a tribute to the place she once dreamed of as a child, and the childhood she can no longer return to.
XIV.
Starry Night
Inspired by a luminous sky over the Azores — an evening of gazing into the stars, and the shooting ones that passed across them.
XV.
My Awakening World
A reminder, written when life felt routine, that her world is bigger than the everyday noise — her shortest piece, and one of her most demanding.
XVI.
Beneath the Gentle Clouds
From an introverted girl finding refuge in the sky during school breaks, to the same blue sky over a Luxembourg park years later — a quiet thank-you to the life she once dreamed of.
XVII.
Those Were Our Days
A tribute to her friendships at Purdue University nearly a decade ago — autumn walks, endless late-night talks, and a younger self when every dream felt possible.
XVIII.
To Annie
A musical gift for a special young girl — from her flower girl at the wedding, to the day Annie sent a video of herself playing The Story of Time.
XIX.
The Closure of an Era
A farewell to chapters that are ending — written for anyone facing a significant change, marked by a key shift mid-piece, just as life shifts mid-journey.
XX.
You Deliver Me
Her most personal piece — a song of faith and gratitude, written in the season of advent, for the One who has carried her through every chapter.
